Recipe for French Onion Soup - instadessert


Ingredients

4 sliced sweet onions
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp butter
3 minced garlic cloves
2 tsp brown sugar
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp all purpose flour
64 ounces vegetable broth
2 tbsp fresh thyme
Low-Fat mozzarella cheese
French bread

Directions


Over medium heat, place onions butter, vinegar, minced garlic, sugar, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in stock pot. Cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After 30 minutes, slowly stir in all purpose flour and allow to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Turn heat to low, then add the vegetable broth and thyme. Allow this to simmer for 30-40 minutes.
Once cooked, pour into small bowls and top with bread and a slice of cheese. Allow cheese to slowly melt, then serve and enjoy!
